Wired!

The kids had their biannual dentist appointment this afternoon. Clean bill of health for both, although JJ needs a sealant replaced. However, the technician pulled this from JJ's mouth:

What is this, you may ask? Is it some stringy piece of food? Is it just a string? No, folks, that is a roughly 1/2 piece of wire that was almost completely embedded in JJ's inner gumline in the top of his mouth. Who knows how long it had been in there: the orthodontist didn't catch it 2 weeks ago at the last appointment. Neither JJ nor the technician could believe it when she pulled that out. JJ is a little sore, but OK. I, however, am a bit horrified! Ew!
